A Diplomate is a periodontist who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
What does it mean to be a Diplomate?
A Diplomate has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements. Reaching Diplomate is the highest level of achievement in the Periondontal specialty. In addition to educational requirements, re-certification of continued competency in periodontics through continuing education is also required.
