David P. Pitman, DMD
Dr. Pitman received his Bachelor of Arts Degree Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences and his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he received the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award and the Abram Cohen Award for Excellence in Periodontics. He did his post-doctoral studies in periodontics at Columbia University’s School of Dental and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Pitman is certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology and he is certified both in periodontics and the surgical placement of dental implants.
Dr. Pitman was President of the Columbia Dental Alumni Association and the Columbia Periodontal Alumni Association. He is also proud to have received the Distinguished Periodontal Alumni Award in 2008. He was also the Chair of the American College of Dentists New York Section in 2016 and President of the New York Academy of Dentistry in 2018-2019. Dr. Pitman has also served as a trustee of the North Eastern Society of Periodontists and President of his local Board of Health.
Dr. Pitman teaches postgraduate students at Columbia, where he is an Associate Clinical Professor, and in 1999 received the Faculty Mentor Award from his students and colleagues. Dr. Pitman has also been named in America’s Top Dentist’s Guide every year since 2004.
